Seat foam - full foam vs. spring/foam - what do I have?
Before too long I will be ordering a seat cover for the truck. I was planning on doing all new foam as well. I have noticed that the foam that is being sold only fits certain seats - so I dont want to order new foam and then have it not actually fit. Do I have a full foam or a spring/foam seat? I believe it is from a 1972 due to the pattern of the vinyl and the style of the mounting brackets. Tried searching but never found a good answer. Any help is appreciated. Thanks,
Russ

Russ, I think you have the spring/foam seat. I believe you look at the springs and they should be S-type. Here is a pic of my 70 and 73 full foam seats.

Where you going to order your foam from? That stuff is pretty pricey. I've got to either repair my 71 seat or replace the entire foam. Been debating on DIY or paying a shop. Either way is going to be spendy.

Talk to Truckseats------he might be able to get you the foam you need.
Both of the pics in the thread are spring seats, not full foam. You can buy the full foam and cut it down, or have it cut down, to fit a spring seat.

My guess was that it was a spring/foam seat so that confirms it. I thought maybe there was a foam with a spring inside of it or something. I will talk to the foam guys and figure out my options.
I plan on getting the foam from Truckseats or PICKMUP on the board

I would find a full foam seat. They're more comfy imo.
