Original bench seat?
I have a bench seat in my '70 chevy and I have never seen one like it. I am pretty sure it is factory though. On the glovebox there is part #623 gold cuts cloth trim. I wonder if that is the seat. Any seat pictures or advice would be appreciated.

Re: Original bench seat?
Very few seat covers have survived 40+ years of use and exposure to the sun. If it looks in fairly decent shape, not cracked or torn, more than likely it's been recovered and no telling what design previous owners chose.

Re: Original bench seat?
That doesn't sound even remotely factory. You can post a picture if you want but I linked you to a '70 623 interior.

Re: Original bench seat?
There is big tears and the previous owner had had a seat cover on it for years. So it could be original

Re: Original bench seat?
That is without a doubt not the the correct factory seat cover for any 67-72 Chevrolet. Probably a custom made cover if it has the gold welt cord you mentioned.

Re: Original bench seat?
Do you think it could be a custom factory seat because that's what I couldn't figure out

Re: Original bench seat?
What is there to figure out? I have provided links to images of what your 623 off-white/ivory/light gold cloth seat cover should look like. The custom in the name is a trim level. The cover on your seat is a fairly easy to make cover that wears well because the are no seams on the seating surface. Believe me someone made that cover up and it was not for GM.
