I LOVE the Forum...But....

...what's going on with only being able to attach small pics? 100k? Am I wrong that there's been a change in the last week or so?

If not, and it's from my side, Sorry.....

Otherwise:

Hey, I'm a supporter of all the cost incurred and work and that goes on to keep a forum up and running. I do it myself out here in the ether
for a couple of different sites.

But this site is pic sensitive. Showing each other specific parts, parts nos., etc. How they are installed...let alone the fancy stuff that may
be secondary...the "art shots and other pics we all love.

If the issue is server size and the cost to maintain all that data, isn't there a way to save money or raise it by means other than limits
like 100k per pic?

Maybe dumping very old stuff on specific threads? Like, "Rats in the Glove Box", or whatever?

For one, I'd be happy to help pay, if that's the issue. The smaller shots will be deal crampers on the best forum on the web.

What can we do?

No, not anything close, bruceman.

I was just grabbing for an example of what might be a clog up of the Forum server's memory. I could have just as easily grabbed
something out of my bent noggin like a 1997 post about window cranks rusting after being left outdoors in the rain for nine years.

Not that there was one....

To Funny. And Yes it had me thinking......Why my thread, what's wrong with Rats as long as their in a 68 Chevy truck Thanks for subscribing, I'll have a engine and exhaust update, plus a "My niece takes a ride in my truck" update this winter.

I just tried to upload a pic to another thread and it told me to resize it to 642 x 0. That must be something the webmasters are still working out cause 642 x 0 is pretty much zero. I'm sure they will have it sorted out soon.

Maybe. Silly and unnecessary? Good point. But I like to think that we could all use a little "humor" of one sort or another from time-to-time.

I suspect that, more likely, the problem for the Forum is the posting of 6MB pics that clog up servers. My only real point is that limiting the size of pics
(more specifically, the, *resolution*) is that the rez is sometimes important when someone wants to show detail of an install, etc.

I do some P-Shopping for some folks on the Forum. And, even though I resize down to under 500kb, and then the Forum program resizes it again, it's
useless (in most cases), to try to help someone get an idea of what his or her truck may look like with a different drop, different wheels, etc. at 100kb
of resolution.

Then again, I guess there's always PM if sharing isn't a factor.

I see what you mean on the "humor thing". There's probably no place for clean humor on a truck forum.
Keep it all trucks, all the time. And stay serious.

Didn't mean to offend anyone with my pathetic and wasteful attempt at friendly levity.

magwakeenercew2jh don't forget some of us are still on dial-up. Large high resolution pics can take forever to load.
