Paint code question

I've got some spraying to do on a a couple of trucks, two trucks need the roof to have the white paint redone, and I also have several sets of wheels that need to be resprayed in the original white. Question is, where they both the same paint code? And if so, what paint code it is? On is a 68 and the other is a 71 if that makes a difference. Thanks.

Re: Paint code question

Hey,

I just sprayed my cab roof code 526 Ivory. I believe that's correct for 67-68. My truck is a '69 GMC, but I built it back as a '68 Chevy and decided I wanted to have the top white. When I saw "Ivory" as the correct color I almost changed my mind. Though it would be too "yellowish". I was wrong! It looks fantastic. Just a clean, soft white. Not too stark. The code for the '69 and up I think is code 521 White.

Hope I was some help to you.

Danny

Re: Paint code question

Correct, the 67-68 secondary color is 526 ivory (Ditzler 8080) while the 69 up trucks are 521 white (Ditzler 8280) except for the Custom Two-Tone trucks like the blue/blue, green/green or black/red orange.

Re: Paint code question

2185 for 1970 and later, I believe. Could be wrong, but that's how I read the charts...
