Bonnet hood latch
Hi this is the first time I have posted on this forum and not to sure of the etiquette but need some help and thought I would just ask!
After months of searching I found and bought my 1951 3100. Usual silly amount of work that needs doing-but of course that was the idea So my issue, I haven't been near her yet as waiting to get her into her new home (moving house to a place with a bigger garage) however have bee poking around her here and there, and there appears to be an issue with the hood latch, the lever is moving but nothing is popping? I opened it fine when I initially checked out the truck, so I don't know if im just being an idiot or if something got knocked out of place when being delivered? If it is the catch that's gone what is the best way of getting in to open it? (No big deal taking bits apart as its all coming off eventually anyway! Any help/advice will be much appreciated! Re: Bonnet hood latch
Chris, welcome to the site. I too have had mine stuck before. When pulling the lever out try pushing on the nose of the hood. It may be a little out of alignment. There is a cone shaped part that the latch captures. If the lever is pulled out toward you it should let go of the cone, at that point its probably just stuck. Dont be afraid to push around on the hood a bit. Maybe others may have a better solution.
Good luck ! Shawn
