Talking 70' gmc swb "texas touch"

I have started the "Texas Touch" build. Below are some tear down and new part install pics. I will say, Southeastern idea of "a little rust" is different than dry Texas version of "little rust"!

Tomorrow, new donor doors, front fenders, hood, and cowl are being picked up for prep and paint. I have all new front parts: radiator support (GMCPauls), all new front grill, all new upper and lower Mar-K trim, new front and rear bumpers....interior will be gutted, repainted, and new red accent parts added (pics to come).

So, buckle-up it's going to be a fun build!!!

CC69RAT's creation

Coming to Texas!!

Home-Sweet-Home (new rear "Eye Candy" installed)

Teardown

Rust!!

More Rust!!

And Yes, more Rust!!

New Radiator Support installed!!

New front end "EYE Candy" installed!!

Not that anything I have to say matters to anyone, but I thought the whole purpose of a build thread was to track the progress of building/modifying/restoring a truck. Can't wait to see how this one turns out - good luck with your build SuperC10Tex, I'll be keeping up.

Thanks guys for the encouraging words!!!

Now back to "Texas Touch"........here is a pic of the direction I am going on the interior. I don't want to "Red out", just accent in red. only items not pictured that are also going to be red is the dash pad, and seatbelts (Cheyenne Super-Man is rebuilding the belts). Tell me what you guys think, any other "Red" ideas?

Without a doubt. And maybe the carpet too. I love a black truck with red interior.

Re: 70' gmc swb "texas touch"

This is a beautiful truck!! Where can I find info about the A/C unit you have? I have the same in mine, and I was thinking it is a Dealer installed option. Is that correct? Would love to find a new vent for it but I don't know if that's possible...

CCrat69 had the truck before me, but as I understand...it was a "Dealer" install. This one does run, but I will have it converted from r-12, and I want to dismantle the inside blower unit and lube, rework. Chad CCrat69 may have more insite than me....Good Luck, and....\m/....Hook'em!!!
