17 years of waiting and finally got my truck!!
Ok guys I know its not a Chevy and its one of the ugliest years ford made but I am sooo excited about this truck. My grandfather owned a body shop and bought it new in 1967 and used it as a DD for a long time. He died about 17 yrs ago and my uncle, I'll say "acquired" it and I've been trying to buy it from him ever since. Since my uncle never really drove it he finally decided to sell it to me and so I picked it up this weekend. I paid more for it than I wanted to but it really doesn't matter, I'm just pumped to finally have my grandpas truck. Here are a couple pictures of my new '67 f100

Nice truck of the era, even if it's the wrong make.

There's nice critters in all breeds, and that's sure one of them.
Enjoy it in memory of your Granddad.

Re: 17 years of waiting and finally got my truck!!
Thanks for the comments guys. I got the carb rebuilt and was able to drive it around the neighborhood a little today Still needs some brake work and then it should be good to go
I originally thought I would make it a short bed, build a nice big block and do a crown vic swap with bags but the more I think about it I'll probably just get some different wheels for it and call it done, maybe bring it down 2"?

Re: 17 years of waiting and finally got my truck!!
I think that's one of F***'s better looking models, it just looks "tough", like it's got some balls, way better than the models after it. Glad it's found it's home with someone who will take care of it, and I think the waiting period will just make finally owning it just that much sweeter in the long run. Congrats for staying after it all those years and finally getting it. Take care of it and above all, enjoy it! BTW, I had a 69, or maybe it was a 67, Ranger, back in the day, It was a good truck, I rebuilt the 302 and front suspension, but the bodywork was too much for me back then, but I did make a little money when I sold it

Re: 17 years of waiting and finally got my truck!!
Congrats! I wouldn't hesitate to have that truck in my collection, knowing it was my grandfather's. To me, there's something to be said for sentimental value. It looks to be in great condition as well. My paternal grandfather has a few antiques which will one day be passed on to my younger brother and I. They rarely get used either, but they're kept safe & sound out of the elements. One of the vehicles is a '50 Ford Coupe. While I'm not a Ford guy at heart, I do think some of the older ones were quite stylish. Like you, I won't hesitate to own that vehicle even if it's not a Chevy. Hope you get lots of enjoyment & happy memories from your new toy, & I'm sure grandpa would be proud!

Re: 17 years of waiting and finally got my truck!!
Really kool truck. I like these old Fords. One time my cousin wanted to go get a truck he sold to a fella way back. It was like a '69 and it was Blue. He told me that the guy had been locked up and his "Friend" told my cousin to go get his old truck. So we loaded up his tow bar and threw it in the back of his 3/4 ton '76 Ford. We get to the guys house and this dude was way off his rocker. He'd went totally crazy and boobie trapped the place and did all kinds of whack o stuff. Well we walk carefully through the yard and sitting in what appears to be a driveway is the '69. It was green now and had a camper top. So my cousin and I take a closer look and the truck had been painted with a brush. Which it didn't look too bad but still it wasn't great either. After looking at the truck we found some very interesting things he'd done to it. For one he engraved his drivers license number on every part. This includes the trim, glass and bumpers and ten tons more crap. Second he chained two batteries together with a bolt through each to the back of the truck. Why? Who knows, he was nutts. Then he'd chained his boots to the floor. Man this guy was out there. So after two hours of digging the truck out and getting it hooked to the tow bar with yanked it out with the '76. Got it to his house and parked it in behind the old house, where it sits to this day. About a year after we went to get the truck my cousin calls me up and says " I was looking under the truck today and saw that he'd cut half way through the frame. Lucky we made it as far as we did with it." I just rolled. As far as I know the guy is still locked up. Or in some mental institution. Every now then when I see the truck I go look at the Drivers License numbers scratched on the windshield. Ah fun memories of old trucks.

Re: 17 years of waiting and finally got my truck!!
I'm far from a F*rd guy, but the 67-72s are by far the best looking of the modern era F*rd trucks. Just like the 67-72 Chevy GMCs. That looks like a nice truck.
