Seat Belt ?
After doing a lot of work on my interior I finally got to the point where I can reinstall everything. I was pretty excited, then what seemed liked it was going to be simple turned into a big disapointment. The NEW seatbelts I ordered aren't correct. The hold down bolts are smaller and of a finer thread. I ordered a lot of parts from different places, so I am not sure if they came from Brothers or LMC! Anyway does any body sell the correct belt for these trucks without modifying them? Or should I just clean and dye the old GM ones?

Re: Seat Belt ?
Nearly all of the vendors carry the same aftermarket seatbelts...do the buckles have a picture of a globe on the buttons? They will need to be cut-to-fit if so.
Also, what year is your truck? if it is a 67, the floor mounts take a 7/16-20 bolt (fine thread). If it is a 68-72, the floor mounts take a 1/2-18 bolt (coarse thread)

Re: Seat Belt ?
Thanks for the input. My truck is a 71. I guess I could drill out the hole where the bolt goes through, so it could accept the larger bolt with the course thread. It seems like nothing is ever easy! lol.
The buckle is the lift-up style, no globe! |

Re: Seat Belt ?
If they are flip up style with a smaller bolt you probably ordered 67 belts.

Re: Seat Belt ?
Thanks for the input everyone.
I drilled out the holes on the belts so I could use the old bolts. On the package for the belts it says 67-72! It figures I would get the one year that doesn't fit! LOL. |

I just went to the bolt store and got some without the shoulders. Automotive Fasteners or Fastenall are two stores we have around here that usually have what you need.
