F%^&$^G wife!! F*^C*&# horn button!!!

I recently took a trip where I knew I would have some down time so I took the horn button off my 68 GMC to polish up and try to bring back to life. When I was done polishing it I wrapped it in a cloth and put it in a bag. When I got home the good wife cleaned my truck with out me knowing and accidently threw out my horn button.... so at this point I am having a have time finding a replacement.. anyone have any leads on where to find one?? or is Grant gonna get some of my cash

Women do that man....and when you ask them not to, battle ensues. *I am immune as I am single!

Appealing for help as you have done is good, watch the trader forum, hit the junkyards...

I consider anybody throwing anything away in my truck at anytime stupid, but that's just me...

It could have been something much harder to replace that a horn cap in the bag.

To clarify what I meant - I wasn't calling your wife stupid. I was simply saying that I didn't think it was your fault by having something wrapped in a rag in your truck. No one should clean out a guy's truck and throw anything away that isn't obviously trash (bottles, wrappers, dirt, etc.) If you find something in a bag, in a rag, in a can, or in a box - leave it alone! -lol

Cool offer, bigblock68!

Re: F%^&$^G wife!! F*^C*&# horn button!!!

When I first got married I had a 70 chevy pickup, and decided to pull the seats and carpet out and do a really good cleaning. My lovely wife asked if she could help. I told her I didnt think so, but she insisted. So I explained what I was doing, and when I told her I wanted to clean the carpet she said very excitedly "Oh I can do that!"

So I let her.

She walked off with my carpet and I continued what I was doing. About an hour or so had gone by and I realized I hadnt seen her since she walked off.
I walked in the house and she was sitting on the couch watching tv. I asked "how is that carpet coming along" half joking figuring she probably just shook it out and gave up on it. Her reply was... Oh, its almost done... Its in the dryer now.

Yep.... She washed the carpet in the washing machine... I pulled it out of the dryer and their where holes everywhere.

She meant well, and I felt really bad for her. But she doesnt even ask to help me when I go out to the garage now.

I'd hope she doesn't read this board, or she'll be throwing away your steering wheel too.

For a woman to clean your truck like that for the first time ever, she's probably looking for panties in the glovebox that don't belong to her so she can take you on the Mauri show, and give you a lie detector test lol.

I bought my 67 horn button from the parts board. They have them on ebay sometimes too. I've never seen one at the junk yard

Re: F%^&$^G wife!! F*^C*&# horn button!!!

Well this is a bummer!, I hope you can find another horn button. Take it easy with your wife. I am sure she wanted to have a part in this "old truck habit" that we all have. It is amazing how different men and women see the same situation. Hang in there and think "Big picture" this will most likely work out in the end. All the best Dirk

Re: F%^&$^G wife!! F*^C*&# horn button!!!

My wife liked to take her rings and earings off and wrap them in tissue and leave in cupholder. , she couldn't wear at her job. That was until we swapped vehicles one day and I cleaned her car out for a trip. I threw her diamond earings out at a car wash. She don't do that no more. And I bought her a new pair. Horn buttons are much cheaper.
