Door Rubbing?
So on this truck I got, it had this 1 primered door on it supposedly they replaced because a deer ran into the other one, so it rubs the front fender when opening (highlighted where in the picture) but everything seems to line up right.. Any ideas?

Re: Door Rubbing?
Yes - either:
a) increase the gap in the side view. Should be about 1/4" all the way down from top to bottom, or b) shim the fender outboard at the rear to "cheat" the gap, allowing the door to tuck inside the rear of the fender as the door swings. Shims would be added at the horizontal attachment at the top (inside the door opening) and at the horizontal attachment at the very bottom of the fender. K

Re: Door Rubbing?
So if the gap is right in the front all I can do is shim out the back of the fender.. Okay will try to look at it a lil better in the daylight tomorrow

Re: Door Rubbing?
Interesting, wonder if that could be it cause like I say it looked all lined up but I will take a better peek when I get home from work and measure it and the gaps.

Re: Door Rubbing?
If you're really trying to get it right, a rebuild of the door hinges and checking the door structure for cracks by the hinges is a good first step. I just dealt with this exact same issue on a junker shortbed I'm building. Every time you'd open the door it would rake and pop off the fender. I had cracks behind the hinges on the door that needed addressing along with the worn hinges themselves. Only after addressing all of that could I get a good adjustment. I did also wind up putting a shim on the right side core support mount to get it just right.

Re: Door Rubbing?
Okay so got a better look at it today, and I was wrong everything doesnt line up perfect the bottom half at the back of the door you can tell is tilted inward more, there is probably a half inch gap down there so I think the door is just unaligned.
