Hood side emblems
My hood has no side emblems at the present. It has metal strips where the emblems go that looks like they are held on with a rivet. Looks like holes are there for the emblems. I'm getting it ready to paint so I was wondering if these things stay on there or should I remove them? I don't know if the emblems go over them or what since I don't have emblems to try.

Re: Hood side emblems
on my 53 chevy AD, the emblem completely covers it up. The emblem is bigger than the recessed pocket that holds the strip that is spot welded and riveted in there.

Re: Hood side emblems
That answers my question. I started to remove them and I figured I'd better ask first, thanls.

Re: Hood side emblems
They are what holds the inside piece that the hood hinges fasten to. Not a good thing to remove them if you planning on not running emblems. That is the voice of past experience speaking.
