Pulling Motor
Okay fellas I need your help again heck I always need your help.
I'm going to be pulling my motor/tranny out this coming up weekend. I'm selling everything to the guy for him to be able to just install and it and drive. What all do I need to remove/not remove to make this possible? I'm keeping my headers so that's not something that's going with the motor.

No it's not for the same vehicle it's supposed to be going into like a 55-59 chevy apache, but I didn't see my mess up in the post he just wants to be able to start it on the ground.

Is target truck a 6 or 12v system? If 12v, leave on the starter and alternator. Probably lose any AC compressor and power steering pump. This will likely change how the belts work. Leave on the balancer and main pulley. I would pull the distributor to avoid possible damage during engine removal, transport and installation in target. Brings up the 6-12v question again. Motor mounts will need checking for usability. Intake and carb can stay on. Carb linkage likely different. Is your tranny manual or auto? If auto, does he have a way to deal with cooling and shifting? How is he handling voltage regulation for the alternator? Did the target originally have a generator? Does his drive shaft match your tranny? Leave the fuel pump on if yours is the engine mount type. And the water pump and fan assembly.

Your first question I have no idea on whether it's a 6 or 12v system he plans on using. I'm keeping my motor mounts because I'm going to need them for my motor I'm going to be getting. My tranny is an auto tranny. I'm really just giving him my motor any tranny and the components to go with it, anything that I need for my motor I'm getting I'm keeping. I don't know what he does/doesn't have access to.
