New project truck
Thanks Bouncytruck for helping with the picture
Brought this little dude home yesterday. Same owner for the last 24 years. I overpaid for it, but I get kind jacked up by unmolested original trucks. Soon to be 5 lug, disc brakes, 4/6 drop, and overdrive. |

Looks like a clean truck. I understand what your saying about paying a little more for an unmolested truck. Usually it works out in the end. You don't have to pay to fix someone else's mess.

I got him down to $1300
On the way home, the generator light comes on. I'm figuring the belt came off. Nope, the ring came off the harmonic balancer. My wife had pulled over and picked up the outer part, that fell off. I was able to cut strips of rubber from the floor mat, and wrap it around the hub of the balancer and hammer the outer ring back on. I left the belt loose and stayed at 45mph, and it held till home. Ratrod67, we're practically neighbors. I'm from Weatherford and work in Hurst. |

That's a great starting point . . ... especially for under $1500.

I'd be happy to pay $1300 for a clean truck like that. Looks like a very nice start.

In the salt belt, that would go for $2K. You need to get the rearend down soon.

Wish I'd started with a project that nice... Good score for 1300, and excellent McGyver-esque save with the floormat! That's a great story!

I think you should feel great about your deal. As everyone else has said, I've seen worse go for more money.

I too think you got a great deal. That will be a fine looking truck with a little TLC and elbow grease...and $$$.
I wish my 'project' was in as good shape when I picked it up. Best of luck and have fun fixin' her up! Keep us posted! |

Take a look at my other truck under "MY Orange 69 SWB" to see what I like. This one is next.
