Lowered shock parts numbers? - The 1947 - Present Chevrolet & GMC Truck Message Board Network

I have a 1966 C-10 stepside shortbed. I found some like new 2" lowered springs for the front and 3" lowered springs for the rear. The truck will just be used as a daily driver and I won't be hauling anything heavy. Also I was thinking about using some 1 1/2" blocks in the rear with the 3" lowered springs. What shocks and part numbers would you recommend. This is a budget build, any problems to look out for. Thanks.

Monroe rear part number 555003 2.5" shorter than stock
still working on the front...

Thanks Jeff. I've used Monroe shocks forever so I'm partial to them.

No problem Iron, it's slow at work right now!
The stock rear is 12" compressed 19.5" extended 7.5" travel
555003 (motorhome) is 9.625" compressed 14.75" extended 5.125" travel
Potential problem is the mounting hardware is different, (P411 vs P1221) and I don't have an idea of whether or not that part will work.
I can't seem to find a shorter shock for the front. I remember something about guys relocating their upper mounts higher on the frame. Maybe someone can chime in.

Hey BMERDOC,
Thanks for the info, but the Monroe 33033 is a stock shock. Not sure about the other numbers. At 10.125" compressed, it's already kinda short. Guess not short enough.

You're right about the front shock. It was from my records and I can't remember why I put it in there. Heres a link to a thread about KYBs. Theres more out there. I'll dig around and see what I find...
