interior always a tan color???
So my truck is a 62 and is light blue on the outside but tan on the inside. I have noticed that almost all of these trucks no matter what color they are on the outside they are almost always painted that tan color on the inside. Any one have any info on this?
Thanks |

Re: interior always a tan color???
All the trucks I have had were fawn. Wiped down the rattle can blue with acetone and found white from the top seam on a-piler to the the rear of seat. Also the dash has wh ite inside gauge area and glovebox. Non deluxe cab.

Re: interior always a tan color???
The 65 cab that was silver was the factory air truck I just sold and I believe it was a freemont truck also.

What was the CA plant in 60 then? I was told it was made in CA and never left. I always assumed it was Fremont.

Re: interior always a tan color???
It would have been the Oakland plant. Both my 59 and 60 were built there. The plant was located at the corner of 73rd Ave and Foothill Blvd and was in operation from 1917 to 1963 I believe. The location was turned into the Eastmont Mall later and now it's located within the Oakland "killing zone" where there are 100+ homicides a year. My how times change!!

Re: interior always a tan color???
curious about the silver 65...
I was under the impression that all 60-61 were silver with the charcoal dash, then 62-65 were fawn (tan) with the tan dash, and the 66 was fawn with the brown dash. chev and gmc.

Re: interior always a tan color???
It's totally anecdotal, but when I was a teenager I had a 65 that also had a silver interior, it appeared original and wasn't fawn underneath when it was sanded down.
