Re: 1968 351 v-6

Never had one but from wht ive heard/ read:

Huge torque
Not so good fuel mileage
Doesnt like to rev, low rpm= torque
Parts availabilty not as easy as sbc

Cool because its different
If it aint broke dont fix it!

Re: 1968 351 v-6

I know some who managed to get a 305 V6 rebuilt somewhere in CA. I wanted it badly...

Re: 1968 351 v-6

The 351 V-6 was the best all-out pulling engine installed in a 67-72 GM truck. As others have said, they are low rpm torque monsters, and are not great on fuel, but not terrible if properly tuned.

The biggest downfall with them is that they need higher gears than normally installed to be good on the highway.
