My wifes C10. Well thats what I tell her.

I was trying to get my wife to drive my crew cab or cadillac this summer but she thought she should have her own truck. I did not give her any time to change her mind and found a pretty clean short box. Plans are bagged, 22s, Big block or 6L, big back window conversion. I told her this was a budget build. I think I blew the budget idea the day I talked to porterbuilt, But I'm trying to keep it reasonable.

Sorry for the bad blackberry pictures.

Yesterday a few friends pushed it in the garage and tore it down.

Wheels, bags and compressors are here. Porterbuilt dropmember and stuff are still about a month away. Will be doing gerneral clean up on the frame and start some cab repair while I wait for parts to arrive.

Thats its for now. Will update this as I make progress, follow along as I try to finish it for next summer.

Looks like a great start !!
Good Luck and enjoy !!

Looks like you are no stranger to classics, assuming the car on the lift is yours as well.
Is that a 62-63ish Impala or BelAire ?

A very nice truck to start with!
This should be a great project. Especially when the better-half is on-board!

Re: My wifes C10. Well thats what I tell her.

Time for a update. Got my porterbuilt front end about a month ago. So cleaned up the mess and started a little work. Taking pictures is always the last thing on my mind, I hope to try and take them a little more often.

Picked up a used pb trailing arm crossmember and my buddy brandon starting knocking out the back end.

Set the 6L and 4l80 in place

Got the exhaust started and put the frame on the ground for a little motivation.

Had to out of town for work training last week, so it has not changed since last Sunday. Next up will be panhard bar, new crossmembers in the back of the frame, mount the gas tank, air tank and compressors.

Thanks, So much left to do, need more hours in the day.

Picked up some used parts from members on here, some new stuff from lmc and a set of tires for a buddy. Time to get back out to the garage.

Re: My wifes C10. Well thats what I tell her.

Great progress. And a belated welcome.

Good to have a team.

We definitely live in the wrong part of the world.

Wish we had access to parts at the prices and as easy as you guys.

If we want anything here, you can add 200% plus to the price.

I bought my wife a Christmas present off Ebay in the USA for $30.00 which ended up just over $100.00 by the time I got it here.

Anyway, back to your awesome truck.

Please tell me more about BBW conversions...... How do you do them??

Thanks.

Re: My wifes C10. Well thats what I tell her.

I gotta pick up the pace but slowly getting some things done. Filling holes and started on the bbw. Im no body man or metal master so stuff like this takes me a while.

Have some work to do on the inner bbw panel i am installing. Hopefully finish it up this week.

Re: My wifes C10. Well thats what I tell her.

Im terrible with updates and taking pictures while i work. I have mainly been grinding out huge chunks of bondo, Tons of it hiding under the primer. Had to fill a couple speaker holes in the inner big back window panel and got it installed. Put in a 70's van column with tilt and column shift.

Going to mock up the vintage air, find a LS rad that fits and Sand the rest of this bondo/ primer off.

Got most the paint stripped off the body, Aired it up and pushed it out to blow the dust off.

I dig the wheels, exactly what I'm doing with mine. Have any pictures showing how you got the clips on there? I assume you drilled and tapped them..

I don't have any pictures , I just tacked the clips on for now to make sure I liked the caps.
