New guy, old truck
Hey guys, just got my first c-10. Had plans to buy one and put my LT-1 and 4l60E in but I ended up finding and buying a 69 custom w/ 396 th400 Needless to say I'm keeping the big block. The truck, ol rusty, a med olive with white top beauty with factory ac, power steering, upper and lower side trim, and a long bed. Cool truck but the cab is one rusty mother. Bed is shockingly straight and solid. Never seen a tailgate that wasn't beat half to death on one of these old trucks. Got a lot of work to do, and money to spend. Definetly out of my depth on the sheet metal part but I'll figure something out. Truck hasn't been on the road in 12 years but I'm going to try and get it started and see if it will move under its own power and what all does and doesn't work this weekend, weather and motivation permitting. Plans are for a full restore, mostly stock but some custom touches. Just browsing around has given me some great ideas and I'm really glad to see a lot of Oklahoma boys on here with some sweet ass trucks. Hope to be one of them myself soon enough.
