Re: Diff fit Question
kenn, I'm gonna say no. The roadmaster has a 8.5 inch ring gear with 10 bolts attaching it to the carrier. The rear end in your truck is most likely a 12 bolt. Jim

Re: Diff fit Question
Short answer: No.
Longer answer: Your C-10 has a 12 bolt cover truck-specific rear axle while the Roadmaster uses the GM corporate 10 bolt. The 10 bolt was also found in the back of trucks starting around 1980 in 2 wheel drive. They are 28 spline axle shafts until '88 when the new body style trucks received a 30 spline upgrade. The Roadmaster should be a 30 spline as well so would work in one of those.

Re: Diff fit Question
If the complete rear end is the same width backing plate to backing plate, you could weld on new mounts and possibly use it if you can find a U-joint set to match up,but the 12 bolt is a stronger rear.

Re: Diff fit Question
That 10 bolt posi is worth 100 150 on Ebay, then you could use that money to buy one for the 12 bolt
