Need some opinions
I have a 65 fleet side C10. 4 on the floor, 350 engine, cherry bomb exhaust, about 60k miles since rebuild. I was offered a 68 GMC 4x4 as a trade. 350 engine, auto trans, on 35's, unknown mileage. It's a pretty sharp truck. What would you guys do here? Much difference between Chevy and GMC?
Here my CL ad as I was thinking about selling the truck. http://nashville.craigslist.org/cto/4115992903.html Here's the GMC http://louisville.craigslist.org/cto/4157989919.html What about worth, etc... Or anything else to help me make a decision. Thanks! |

Re: Need some opinions
That is a hard choice.
I would just have to bite the bullet and own them both! Sorry, doesn't help much. John

Re: Need some opinions
Your on the wrong side of the board to get a answer that probably won't lean you towards the GMC, this the 67-72 side. Now if you posted the same on the 60-66 side, they will lean towards the Chevy truck because more over there like that body. I say if you are ready for a change that GMC looks to be a really nice one not to say that your Chevy is not it is nice as well but you must be ready for a change of pace or you would not have listed it in the first place. My vote if it were to count would be to get the 68 GMC. I think Not only will it bring a little more once it is time to sell because of the 4x4, I think that body style[67-72] will bring in more money than the other[60-66] ,now that is just my opinion. Re: Need some opinions
Do you run the woods, hunt, fish... have any use for a 4wd. truck? Kind of an apples to oranges comparison. Your truck would probably be more fun to drive with the Saginaw and peppy sbc. I like the '67-'72 body style better.. that's why I'm on this board. Your '65 is a good lookin' truck. Is your transmission a granny gear truck trans. or a car 4 speed?

Re: Need some opinions
I think hugger hit that right on. If you're ok with driving a lifted 4wd truck, I'd trade too. It's a nice looking truck.

Re: Need some opinions
Thank you everybody. Are there any advantages of owning this body style? Better handling, suspension, etc? I don't need 4wd but would be nice to have. Would also be nice to have an automatic so my lady can take it to work if we have any winter storms, she's a nurse, can't drive stick. Did this year come with both a 350 and 327 from the factory? The alternator is on the passenger side in the picture he sent me which made me think it's a 327,not a 350 like he thinks...
