'70 Burb Barn Door Patches

Hey Guys, new to the site. Picked up the '70 K10 Burb that my dad owned when I was growing up. Is there anywhere that anyone knows of that sells repro Barn Doors or patches for the bottoms, or is it just going to be a lot of fabrication required. I have 2 sets of doors and both sets the LH door is serviceable but the RH is eaten up. Thanks!

As far as I know nothing is available. You will have to find a door to replace it or for patches, or make your own. Check on the "Blazer and Suburban Stuff" parts board on here.

Scroll down to the bottom of this page and you will see the "Forum Jump" box. Click on the little down arrow on the right side of the box and in the window that pops up scroll down to "Blazer and Suburban Stuff". Click on it. There are a few guys parting out Burbs on there...

Sounds good. If the rust doesn't extend up too far it shouldn't be too bad...

Oh, welcome to the board also.

Re: '70 Burb Barn Door Patches

Here is a good look at what I am up against if you or anyone has any suggestions. The good thing is, this is actually one of the worst spots on the truck. Of course with these, there is always something needing rust proofing from what I've seen.

Looks like if you have access to sheet metal brake that piece can easily be made

Unfortunately I dont but I'm sure I know people that can get this knocked out for me. Someone had put a jealousy window in this door and it was a battle getting that thing out...all because of a 2" section of rust on the pinchweld

Re: '70 Burb Barn Door Patches

If you end up repairing the doors, a Harbor Freight cheap metal brake works pretty well. I bought one of the 30" models for $59, and I've used it on numerous projects. Need a couple C clamps to hold the flat bar on this cheap brake, but it does the job on 18ga. and lighter metal.
