513chopshop's bagged 1956 3100 build.
After I built and sold my 59 apache fleetside, and went through a couple other vehicles. I decided to build me another taskforce to specs that better suit my liking. So here it is, 56 swb 3100.
The plans are 20" wheels, set it on the rockers, mild 350 sbc, change to roof to big back window, just to name a few. So far I got the 75 nova clip installed, made and installed notches, triangular 4 link installed. I work on it on my days off so ill post progress as I go. 513CHOPSHOP Last edited by 513CHOPSHOP; 11-18-2013 at 11:29 PM. |

Not much left of your parts truck. What's up with your roof and any plan to use the big back window?

Re: 513chopshop's bagged 1956 3100 build.
yeah its very rusty, I bought it just for the roof and window section. I'm going to swap mine over to big window. My dad and I figure swapping the entire top rather than just the back section would be easier.

I like your wheel and tire combo. What size are they? Your build looks great. Funny just checked fb and saw your post on 55-59 Chevy.

Looks great, do you have any pics, details of what you did on your frame horns/front bumper mounting? i used the same type of clip w/ the large shock type bumper mount and would like to see how you tackled it.

Re: 513chopshop's bagged 1956 3100 build.
Thanks!!
Flames97: They 20"x8, 20"x10. ZR2RICK: I didn't do anything special. I cut the horn off behind where the fenders will sit. I used a thick piece of metal for capping the horns and let it hang off the bottom. Then I bolted the clip on and mocked the bumper using jack stands, Went under it and welded the factory frame mounts to the metal. I will get a pic for you tomorrow and pm it to you. |

Re: 513chopshop's bagged 1956 3100 build.
Looks good. It was after seeing how you did your notch in the rear, that I decided to do mine in a similar way. Can't wait to see more updates.
