Some companies had trucks with step side beds for many years and the places would unbolt the fenders and bolt on tool box packs to make utility beds from factory step beds. So that finding the fenders is uncommon is no big surprise. A lot of places did that until 88 when the body style changed a few tried to do the same with the newer step bed but it didn't catch on like the older one did. Our local light company used to have stacks of them, I don't know if they ended up as scrap or someone got to use/sell them. Jim

My brother bought a set very similar to these. A utility company here in town bought a fleet of step side and put tool boxes on when new. Then the fenders were just stored. I wish we could have gotten ahold of more than one set!

I bought a set from 72 Wideside . He only got that set that his power company had stashed in rafters. He went running back for the rest after that!
