A/C Unit revisited...
Sorry if this is a repeat, I couldn't locate a recent thread on the subject -
I am considering ordering a Vintage Air Gen.II mini system for the '51 3100. I have read that the "XX" under dash system was just 'better than nothing'. So I am hoping the newer GenII system to be more than adequate. Any experience, installation pics and opinions are appreciated. thanks, Don |

Hi Skip, that's quite a bit of nice work you've got done -your wife will have a really nice truck ! Thanks for the contact info.
we haven't decided on how the vents will be done yet, but want to get the evap system fitted before much under dash was done - do you have any pics on how you mounted the GenII evap sys ? We're hoping to keep a 'stocker' look, but with 5.7 vortec w/ 700r4 = nostalgia with comfort thanks, Don |

Re: A/C Unit revisited...
So I took Skip99's advice and called Todd @ Auto Air & Audio, Inc. - Winter Haven FL - he not only had the time to talk with me and answer my questions, he offered good suggestions, and he sent the right parts the first time - I had called 3 other Vintage Air venders with a couple questions and not one called back - that's not how I run my small business !
It took all of an hour to make and hang a bracket on the inside of the firewall and make 2 more to tie into the underside of the dash - No holes in the firewall and it sits so I can fit in a complete glovebox with all the plumbing outta sight in behind it - Thanks again, Don |
