I bent my DOOR! Won't close now.

I made a huge mistake sigh..I open my door to back up normally when I try to measure how far my rear bumper is or in a tight spot REASON being my stupid mirrors are not adjusted and I can't see sh$&.Anyway today I nearly tore the damn door off by getting it hooked on a pole right near me.My driver door was wide open when it nearly got folded on its back but not quit. The door is preety much bent from stress in the middle and has more importantly has the edges of the fender bent preety good looks like a damn car hit it (folded in).The door sags down about 1 large inch! And doesn't hit the striker I can't close the door.I think it can't close because number because possible mounts or pints OBVIOUSLY but also the fender edge where the door meets fender is so badly folded in and its scuffing and clenching the door.

How much is this going to cost

This is a 82 silverado with done paint job not expensive just normal metallic grey.Rest of truck is fine just door and fender fold

A junk yard fender and door, around here would set you back around $100. then I'd take it to a couple paint shops and see what they'd charge to match it.

I mean the door edge that meets the fender is folded in like if some took a big mean axe and slammed it in the edge. The fender is fine I think nothing but bumps and scrapes and some warp but overall straight like new.

you may need to do hinges too depends on the severity of the bend

i backed over my wheel barrow once, and was so ticked off I slammed the door and shattered the glass out of the window. Wife was watching the whole episode and brings it up every once in a while.

Re: I bent my DOOR! Won't close now.

Reminds me of the scene in Tommy Boy where Chris Farley did the same thing. "What'd you do!!!!"

Happens to the best of us man. I'd run out of band width before I could finish describing the dumb stuff I've done. Get it fixed up and you'll have a good campfire story.

LMAO the loud crash sound had everyone nearly get off there feet in the diner I was going to eat at and some did look outside.I was more embarrassed then pissed specially trying to kick and snap the door to get it to close. Its funny because what got me scarred was when i put truck in forward the door acted as if it was going to fall off haha.Turns out from further investigation from the mechanic that the door was partially open because below the striker in the very bottom where there is a big slab on the door has a huge indentation.Door is destroyed I'm buying a new one!
