55-59 on 70's frame question

I've got a lead on a 1955 sitting on a 70's truck frame ( I think a '73). I don't care for the front track width from the frame swaps that I've seen. They look more suited for 4x4's and I prefer my classic pickups on the low side.

So my question is what would be the best option to get it looking and sitting right that wouldn't cost an arm and a leg? Is there a simple fix that I haven't heard of?

I haven't gotten to lay eyes on the truck yet, I'm not even sure if it's a rust bucket. I was just curious if anyone had dealt with this issue. If another frame swap is the only the fix then I won't waste my time going to look at it.

Thanks.

Re: 55-59 on 70's frame question

I have my 56 on 72 c10 frame. My wheels dont tuck but they don't protrude outside the fender lip as well. I'm running a 265 width tire on the front, if I went narrower they would probably tuck. You could do some research on backspacing and offset, then come up with a tire & wheel combo that fits better under the front.
