Fuel Pressure Regulator fuel rail ??

I have a question on the FPR, how do you test to see if it is working when the injectors and rail are on the bench.

I have a hand vacuum pump and the regulator is holding pressure, so now what do I test?

If it holds vac, and there wasn't any gas in it when you pulled it off, it should be fine.

They are goofy little things though, and sometimes they are crap right out of the box. For what they cost, just grab an extra from the parts store. Then when you have your fuel system setup, throw a gauge on the schroeder valve and verify on-rail pressure.

Not much reason to test it on the bench, your not running an adjustable or enriching fpr so there aren't settings to worry about or to spec.

I just wanted to make sure everything was working while I had it off the truck.
As for cost, I went to the GM dealer and wanted to replace the "O" rings and they are not sold with out buying the whole regulator. Cost of F P R from GM was 106.00 so I don't think I will be buying 2 !!
The pressure at the Schrader was 52# and "no Leaks"

hmmm, rock auto lists a Fuel Rail O-ring for $20, which I thought to be the reg gasket. (they list it seperately from the injector seals)

All back together and I have a leak at the F P R !
If I stop the leak I can still hear the fuel pump running, where is this fuel going?

The engine is not running still "testing" for leaks, and found one !
