Is this worth picking up?

is this worth picking up? price is down to 1200. here is what he sent me in an email: I purchased this this fall, was sitting for over a year, Was used as a hunting rig (had camper in back) a few times a yr. I drained the bad gas and oil, installed newer carb and HEI, got it running enough to tool it around the yard and verify the motor was still good along w the brakes and trans. Been sitting out back since as it was not a priority. Still needs a good tune etc... Body is fair with typical rocker, cab corner, outer floor and support rot. Awesome firewall/cowl and windshield frame area. Frame has rust but not rotted, trailing arms have been plated (I would replace). Could be a driver with a little work. . I was planing on pulling the 327 for my 67 build and parting the rest but as this is still an all original truck I couldn't bring myself to ripping it apart. Not trying to sugar coat its condition as it has its issues but I have seen MUCH worse for more $$$. Good start to a project or beater truck.

Heck yeah I would go for it as long as the engine seems healthy enough to bring back to life. Would be an easy summer cruiser!

Re: Is this worth picking up?

Looks a lot rusty to me. I would imagine from the hood and tailgate that the rust is bad in a lot of places.

In Lansing Mi I would assume the body/cab (and maybe even frame) is toast.

Re: Is this worth picking up?

It looks pretty solid to me. Having grown up in the Rust Belt myself, I've seen lots of trucks newer than that in much worse condition. I would definitely buy it.

Re: Is this worth picking up?

my truck was much worse when i started it. owner says frame is not rotted, but i think im going to pass. dash is out, wiring is hacked up. i think i can find another one in a little better shape. might pick this up instead, needs more work, but it is in much better shape. http://kalamazoo.craigslist.org/cto/4181092971.html
