Another difference ?

Between a 69 and a 67 both c10's, What is the difference between each dash and dash components?

I'm slowly in the works of making my 69 into a 67 and although 99% of the interior is going to be custom, I'd like it still to resemble something close to a 67 interior.

Re: Another difference ?

At quick glance, the eye catcher would be smaller ignition and lighter. Not sure, maybe all control knobs were smaller. Oh and definitely the hand brake.. Maybe the blacked out glove box on a custom. I believe the heater only controls were blacked out also. All I can think of on just the dash. Others can chime in to verify. Good luck.

Re: Another difference ?

On the 67/68 instrument cluster, the wiper switch is on the left below the headlight switch and the choke is on the right. Automatic choke became standard,so the wiper switch moved to the right where the choke was in '69.

On the dash, the knobs are ribbed in the outer edge and the ash tray face is thinner at the edges. The heater controls have a black background. The lighter and ignition switch holes are smaller.

Re: Another difference ?

So really that's the only differences on the interior?

What about door panels?
Which trucks came with metal door panels?

Re: Another difference ?

You specified "dash components". . Door panels if a custom were covered in vinyl. Otherwise metal painted. As stated above, handles were different, as we're the arm rests.. Seat tilted forward, I think some or all, not sure, gauge clusters had painted trim, not chrome. Diff steer wheel and horn button.. Maybe more..

Re: Another difference ?

The vent window handles are ribbed -- possibly like on the '58 - '66 "Task Force" trucks, not the ''teardrop'' shape like on '68 -'72s. Also the pivot for this handle is part of the angled metal frame, not thru a hole like in the later models.
No ''ACC" position on the Ignition Switch.

Re: Another difference ?

Seat belts are different. Even the seat belt mounting bolts are, too. Task Force trucks were 55-59,but the wing vent handles are the same as 60-66 is correct. The interior mirrors are unique to '67. The clips for the sun visors are different on the mating surface locating pin. All base level 67-71s came with the same metal door panels. '67 Custom and CST vinyl door panels have vertical pleats and '68s have horizontal ribs with a scroll pattern around the outer with a gap top center with either a bowtie or blank. '67 kick panel vent handles are unique. '67s have textured black glovebox doors to match the dash. Glovebox door emblems are different.

Re: Another difference ?

This goes beyond your questions but some of the other differences are 67's don't have a mounting spot in the door jam for a courtesy light pin switch. 67 exterior door handles bolt differently than the rest. The doors are different as well, behind the door panel the access hole shapes are unique to 67. The fuse panels are different, 67/68 are the same and 69-72 are the same. The steering columns for 67/68 are different.

If you want to get the correct arm rests you'll have to order 60-66, at least that's what I had to do
