Front Sway Bar?
Hi all, happy new year. Have a question for you guys. Have a 1972 Cheyenne Super SWB. Did this truck ever come with a front sway bar? If not could I put one on it from a another 67-72 C10?
Thanks Eddie |

Re: Front Sway Bar?
Yes, you can. It will bolt right up. All the holes are there.

Re: Front Sway Bar?
you can pull one off of any square body Chevy truck too. Mine on my 71swb came off of an 81 3/4 ton

Re: Front Sway Bar?
All the holes are there, but you will have to cut one rivet on each side at the cross member and frame connection. Not a big deal. An air chisel will take the head right off the rivet, and you can punch it out.

Re: Front Sway Bar?
Find a BIG one off a square body one ton. The last one I put on I bought the brackets at the Chevy dealership, that was only a couple years ago so they may still stock the brackets .

Re: Front Sway Bar?
Yes they did and they are a MUST, your ride will improve drastically. As mentioned, they were common in later trucks. I saw 3 in the junkyard last week.

Re: Front Sway Bar?
Check the FAQ section on the site. Member Texas Firefighter has an in depth-faq that I used when I installed my front sway bar. This is one of the best inexpensive upgrades you can do to your truck.

Re: Front Sway Bar?
You can also buy a swaybar kit from ECE or Hotchkis or Porterbuilt etc.

Re: Front Sway Bar?
My $.02. bought a used bar 1 1/8. I bought the rest from local Chevy dealership. The rubber grommets # 3927019,the brackets for the grommets #334671,and the frame brackets #6271375,You need two frame brackets. This worked great on my 67 lwb.

Re: Front Sway Bar?
Use grade 8 hardware to bolt everything up. it is easy and makes a big difference in handling... I am now planning to do a rear bar as well.

not trying to hijack this thread, but are you gonna use that blade style or regular type rear sway?
