Carburetor

Does anyone here have any experience with an edelbrock changeover from a quadrajet? was looking at a 1405 - 1406 carb. It's a 2 wheel C 20 stock 350 and mostly road use. Part of the time is going up the mountain on the weekends. 2500 ft. to 7000 ft.
Manifold and carb is a big expense just to find out it floods out at altitude.
If anyone has past experience, I'm all ears.
Thanks
