Hydra assist braking question

When gathering parts to install hydraulic assisted brakes in a 72 truck (actually a k5 but same deal), is there a particular donor vehicle that is best suited? Is there a year/vehicle parts that goes together the best?

Any Chevy diesel. Astro van, but you may need to change the pulley.
