Re: Lets see all out show trucks
Rain or shine it gets driven it to the store, to all the shows we go to, getting my son from lacrosse practice and picking him and his brother up from school.

Re: Lets see all out show trucks
Thanks Danny....much appreciated! I measured many times to make sure I got the look I wanted.....fronts are 18x8, 4"bs w/ 255/50 rubber and rears are 18X9.5, 4.5" bs w/ 275/55 rubber. Remember....mine's got the wider rearend so you could get away with a little less bs.
bs=backspacing which is the measurement from the backside lip of your rim to the wheel mounting face. BTW.....great looking trucks everyone! Quote:

Re: Lets see all out show trucks
One of my favs on here so far! Great stance and perfect wheel & tire combo! Not overly done on the tire & wheel size. I'm not real crazy about the ones with all wheel & no tire. You need some sidewall for flex for a somewhat comfortable ride. Do you have any pics of under the hood, the bed & of the interior? Would love to see those too.

Re: Lets see all out show trucks
Thanks texjake! I take any compliments to heart as I have a lot of pride given that I built 95% of my 72. The only things I didn't do is build the short block, trans, and stitch the front seat.
I was fortunate enough to get a feature back in November of 2012 in Custom Classic Trucks.....here's the web version for more info and pics. http://www.customclassictrucks.com/f...olet_cheyenne/ I've been a member here for many years and I am constantly amazed at the quality of trucks on this site and the great info and entertainment provided by members. Not too many days ever go by without me looking at some "jawdropping" build and thinking "why didn't I do that"!...LOL! Thanks again...Jim Quote:

Re: Lets see all out show trucks
Thanks Sicklajoie! Congrats back!.....I remember hearing the news that I was going to be a feature and then waiting waiting waiting......Bet the waiting is killing you!
So many trucks here are worthy of magazine coverage.....it is TOTALLY a right place right time thing.

No rain, but I drive it to work at least once a week, plus it's my driver on the weekend.

Re: Lets see all out show trucks
I wouldn't call mine a show truck, but I try to keep it nice while I drive it about 4,000 miles a year from April to October. Average about 80 car shows and cruise nights a year and have managed to pick up over 40 trophies the past 3 years.

Re: Lets see all out show trucks
Nice trucks fellas.....here's mine,I don't drive it in the rain, but it is driven...no trailers. When it was completed this year, it had about 10 shakedown miles then I hit the highway to Puyallup Goodguys. Ran perfect.

Re: Lets see all out show trucks
She looks good enough to win them and I make it to a few shows, but she's no trailer queen. The only trailers she sees are ones she pulls or the one I used when the engine blew. Even if I don't have the heart to use the bed, I still use the truck. As far as beatings she is getting a newer motor after last year, so you could say I wasn't to nice to it.

Re: Lets see all out show trucks
Mine is driven almost daily + I took it on the 2013 Power Tour. I put 3200 miles on it in 8 days. On June 8th I will be on the 2014 Power tour again in it with new 6.0 LSx motor and 4l80e transmission. I wouldn't call it a all out show truck by any means but I do keep it clean and waxed best I can.

It sucks not being able to hear! LWB trucks rule, if you don't think so measure your SWB! After talking to tech support at Air Lift I have found out that the kit I need is 60811. Per the measurements I gave them. Ride height of truck inside spring and inside diameter of springs. |
