Rubber grommet in door question
The rubber grommets at the bottom of my door that the window regulator bottoms out on are dry rotted. I can't find any with the little retention nub at my local hardware store.
Does anyone know where I can get two of them? I want to replace them while the doors are torn apart. I checked GMC Pauls and didn't see any listed but I could have easily overlooked them. Thanks. |

Re: Rubber grommet in door question
Yes, thank you! Those look thicker than the ones there now but they are 43 years old and dry rotted. Thanks for the help, if I would have been looking for "window bumpers" I probably would have found them.

Re: Rubber grommet in door question
Update......So I order those window bumpers which are clearly categorized on their website. What they sent me were bumpers for RS Camaro headlight doors. I called to try to get the correct bumpers and they don't even sell them.
The part was $4.25 for 4 and $7.43 to ship. They wouldn't refund my shipping and said they would, "hook me up with shipping next time I ordered something". Well there won't be a next time. The guy flat out admitted that their website is wrong. First time I've ever disputed a CC charge and Citibank credited me the full $11.68. It's not the money, it's the principle and I won't ever order from these guys again. This isn't on you either NC67Chev, just warning others before they order anything from them. |

I'm sorry to hear about your experience with them. I've always had good dealings with them, so I thought I was giving you a good referral. I'm sorry!

Re: Rubber grommet in door question
Again, no need to apologize. When he asked what I was looking for I told him and he said, "it looks like we don't even carry those". I told him they may want to fix it on their website.
He wasn't rude and I didn't argue with him but I don't get why I have to eat shipping for their mistake. All companies do this too but these could have literally been shipped in an envelope and a stamp. $1.30 at most. They were in a big bubble mailer that still probably wasn't over $3.50 to ship. I love shipping and "handling". I guess I'll keep looking. I do appreciate your help! |
