What is this part called?

Does anyone make these for the parking brake lines? I don't know what they're called and I can't find them in the Classic Parts, LMC, Classic Industries, etc. catalogs?

Re: What is this part called?

Did those from Rock Auto come with the clip that has 2 bolts to mount to the axle assembly? I ordered some from Brothers and it shows it in the picture but when I got them there was no clips.

Re: What is this part called?

They came as shown in your picture. Not sure what you mean by clips, there are bolts that go through the holes pictured.

Re: What is this part called?

Thanks for your input. Clips is a bad word- I am talking about the bracket with the holes the bolts go through. The picture on Brothers website has them but when I got the cables in the mail there was only a cable. I will check out Rock Auto.

Re: What is this part called?

Go to page 7, there is a pic of the ones I got from rock auto here http://67-72chevytrucks.com/vboard/s...=590642&page=7

Mine were for the K20, but they may be the same or have the right ones you need also.

Re: What is this part called?

TTT. Rock Auto unfortunately doesn't have what I'm looking for. Any other ideas out there?

Post Re: What is this part called?

Re use the old brackets or call Brothers and get replacements or a full refund including shipping both ways because they didn't send you what they illustrated .

Park Brake cables are supposed to come with those brackets , this might be a fluke or defective Chinese junk got through .

Adam in the classifieds forum will have good used ones cheaply , wire brush them clean then soak a few days in un diluted anti freeze to lubricate them for lifetime ~ this works very well indeed in snow / ice / salt country where I grew up .

Purchase used ones by measured length end to end .

Thanks for your input. I called Brothers and they are going to refund my money. The problem I'm running into here is that my truck has leaf springs which must have been an oddity or something because everywhere I look the cables are for coil spring only. Does anyone know of a good source for what I'm looking for? I'd like to find a good re-pop if possible.

Re: What is this part called?

On a leaf spring rearend I had to send my old cables to Inline Tube and they made me a new set but had to reuse the part you are talking about.

Post Re : Park Brake Cables

You're welcome , I'm one of those old honest mechanics who hates crooks and unhappy Customers and with Chevrolet Light Duty Trucks , there is never , EVER any excuse for unhappy Customers .

O.K. , now you know that everything on the rear suspension (shocks etc.) is different because your truck was a special order (leaf springs) to work , not ride soft like a car .

As I said before : measure them then contact Adam, and he'll know what you need and have it On Hand .

Or , read the Hot Rod build threads and follow one with your wheel base and leaf springs , PM and offer to buy this unwanted take off cables...

What's wrong with the old ones ? most of the time unless frayed you just clean them well then soak in 1" of new anti-freeze in a HOSPITAL CLEAN plastic drain pan , occasionally pulling them to and fro to help work the coolant inside the Bowden part , once they begin to slide in and out easily you're set for life .

Remember : you have to have the brake shoes installed and bedded in then properly adjusted (no drag when rotating the wheel by hand dead cold) before you attempt to adjust the park brake cables .
