Factory color code for gauge tins?
Anyone know the factory code for the green on the gauge tins?
Tried searching for it but no luck. Thanks in advance. |

The closest you will get is Krylon Jade Green Satin. I have not found anything else that comes close. Thank board member "theastronaut" for this information. Take care, Tom

Re: Factory color code for gauge tins?
Thanks for the reply. I ended up having it color matched at O'reillys. More expensive than Krylon no doubt... I just didn't want to run all over trying to find that particular color.

Yeah I couldn't wait... Working on it this weekend. Was at O'Reilly when I asked that question hoping someone knew it and posted quick... just had them match it to a color chip. GS242 from spectramaster. I'll post a pic or two in this thread once I paint them.

Re: Factory color code for gauge tins?
That would be a cool thing to have access to. I wish the O'Reilly stores around here did that.

Re: Factory color code for gauge tins?
This color is a perfect match for the outer tin. The inner tin used a slightly darker green.

This shows the slight color difference

Re: Factory color code for gauge tins?
Looks great, thx for posting the fini pics! Never thought if green. Redoes, adds a modern touch. Green truck or just a change of pace? And how'd you paint the needles?

Re: Factory color code for gauge tins?
thanks Jocko...Truck is going to be black with black interior... I painted my engine green, caliper are green.. Not sure what else yet.. But just little accents, nothing major, mostly will be black.
I cleaned and wiped the needles down with Pre, then masked them off and sprayed them with Duplicolor Hugger Green, several light coats.. then a medium coat. Don't spray it heavy. here's my engine: Little vid after I got it in. |

Re: Factory color code for gauge tins?
That looks good. My only question is how will it look at night with lights on? I like it though it's differant.
