What Steering Wheel

Can some of you advise on what steering wheel you're using? Staying with the extra large stock model?

Replacing with smaller ones?

I replaced my 69 steering wheel with stock since it's a manual gearbox. My 72 blazer has a 14-inch wooden grant that looks and feels good. I don't know the model.

It's kind of large, isn't it?

Re: What Steering Wheel

I went with the Grant 967-0 steering wheel. Looks cool in the truck and has a good feel to it.

LOL, my 72 blazer has one of these in it (from previous owner). It is oozing sticky goo like crazy!

I'm going to replace it with one of the 88-94 wheels as Tony just posted above. (had a 94 Yukon and always liked that wheel).

Early 90's steering wheel... A little smaller and has 4 spokes which I like.

Rich, that wheel looks great. Any problems adapting it? There's one like it on eBay for about $85 w/freight. I may keep looking. I'm sure there were a lot of em made!

I think I laid about 50.00 for mine, make sure that the glue has not let go in the grip. Mine was in good shape. Nothing to ad spy, replaces the factory without any issues. 10 minute job....

Re: What Steering Wheel

You should be able to find one in a salvage yard for a lot less than $85. That seems a bit steep for something that there is plenty of out there.

Re: What Steering Wheel

Check it out: I'm showing my wife the pics you'all put up where the early 90's wheel looks so good. Then she saw me looking at similar wheels on eBay for sale and reminded me that our trailer business owns a 91 Chevy P/U. She's pretty good at making me feel dumb. Sure enough, it's got the wheel I want and it's in fine enough shape. It's coming off and getting the 'Grant style' wheel the Blazer has! Problem solved.

Thanks one more time for all the great feedback.

I 'm happy with my Momo Prototipo. Kinda gives a classic/retro feel.

Re: What Steering Wheel

Mine has a grant when I got it and the column was broken and floppy with bad bearings. Found a complete one with a good wheel and put it back to stock. I just really like the stock look.
