looking for a thread or writeup
I'm kinda late to the LS world, and I'm looking for an in depth thread or writeup that explains converting the sensors, and explains the wiring better. I'm about to start my swap. Thanks

Www.lt1swap.com should have all the info you're looking for.

Re: looking for a thread or writeup
We have the whole FAQ at the top, and the member builds, most of which contain section by section accounts of what was done. This is not one standard set of things, as there are more than 5 generations of truck discussed on this site...and the information isn't exactly the same across the boards.
While I applaud anyone willing to undertake the improvement of their vehicle...I don't know how I feel about the oversimplification of procedures, including research. There is NO 1 simplified set of instructions that can be followed like a recipe, and it behooves anyone wanting to actually OWN and MAINTAIN a swapped vehicle, to get involved with all the steps and the knowledge that you gain along the way. If you can't find everything you need to know between; the FAQ, member builds, the search button (not the one at the top, but the SEARCH in the FORUM TOOLS), LT1swap.com for wiring, and ls1tech.com (for performance and aftermarket specialty stuff isn't discussed as much here)... Then I'd be surprised.

Re: looking for a thread or writeup
is there a button or link that can actually just put this damn motor in my truck and deduct the appropriate $3500 or so from my bank account?

Re: looking for a thread or writeup
Ok, so here's where this is gonna go.
This is a friendly place, with a pretty non confrontational way of carrying on, and thats great. As a result however, it lacks certain social norms, both positive and negative. We don't have a culture of "USE THE SEARCH BUTTON N00b!", which makes this place an easy, approachable place to ask questions. The flip side is that it also seems to make it appear that there is no cumulative retention of information. Without the constant reinforcement to use these tools, they are a waste. There are many members who have answered many questions in great detail, and taken the time to update and document build logs, parts lists and experiences....but you might never know it if you don't take the 10 minutes to look. And you have over 700 posts, well beyond not knowing the functions were there. What incentive is there for members to answer an increasing number of repetitive and vague questions, some of which have been done in detail well beyond what most enthusiast communities could hope for? Why would we want to remember, explain, or look into these questions, when it seems like the person posting hasn't bothered themselves? As I've said to others, we have 5+ generations of trucks being discussed, and now multiple generations of ls family motors. There is no one definitive answer, guide, recipe, handbook or app to tell you everything....and when we have little to no information on what is being worked with, there are too many variables to provide an honest answer. ....and even then we still point you in the right direction, with suggested references to look into, as every thing in my post was valid and germane to your question. Whether or not you like my "tone", the content was overall, beneficial. If any other member bothers responding to you, maybe you'll like their use of language better....otherwise you'll still be using those resources you hostilely received.

Re: looking for a thread or writeup
Let me say this so it is Clearly understood , Telling someone to use the search bar is not now or ever going to be an acceptable answer to any question . If that answer comes to mind just walk away .
If you you are tired of hearing the question WALK AWAY . If helping " Noobs " is a pain in the ass , Swallow a pill And Walk Away . If your only answer is turning troll ..... WALK AWAY . Thank You And Have A Good Day |
