76 Pickup Leveling Question - The 1947 - Present Chevrolet & GMC Truck Message Board Network

My truck is tail high or nose low depending how you look at it. I would like it to be more level. I don't want to drop the rear rather raise the front. reason is A. where I live, dirt road that gets snow and potholes. B. have bigger wheels and tires to install.

Any suggestion for a front lift?

Moog 6454 front coil springs, use those to replace your old worn out originals. It will give you almost 2 inches of lift.

Did it on my 87 and love it. Gives it more of a 4x4 stance though.

Like Randy says, new springs will help. If you spend the extra time and go trough the bushings at the same time you will have a totaly diffrent handling truck after. It´s well worth the extra effort while you are under there

Checked out the Moog, they don't list a 1976 C10, starts at 83.... The spring search continues

Is there some reason you won't believe me when I tell you Moog part# 6454? Not that I really care, I mean leading a horse to water and all. Just wondering.

Yes found the same thing at another sight. I had gone to the manufacturers sight that you would have though at the compatibility data, or maybe it was just the way I searched. Orielly and a performance sight did say the 6454 was compatible. So that's what I will go with thanks. Being an engineer I like to check they data

is your 87 a c10 errr r10 that is? my 84 c10 sits asshigh and want it level with out downgrading the weight it can handle

My 87 is a R10, 2 wheel drive 5 lug.

So here are the new wheels fitted, next I need those springs as the tire is very close to the front fender.

I have the same problem with my 1980 C10 Custom Deluxe.

At some points I like the "hot rod" rake it has until I hit a bump to fast and scrap the front bumper. Some of the roads in Western Nebraska aint the greatest in the world (especially in town) .

I checked that MooG part number on Rock Auto and they still have them listed,http://www.rockauto.com/en/partsearc...2&partnum=6454

I posted the link maybe to help someone else thats looking for these.

Anybody care to comment back how these springs worked for you? In the listing for the spring, it seems to be a 'one size fits all'. 6 cyl, smallblock, big block, Big Ten. Any feedback?
