What is this one worth?
I'm trying to decide if I should buy it. Body and paint is ok. Engine is new with 800 miles. Overdrive auto tranny with a fresh rebuild. I drove it and it runs good. Holds a straight line on the interstate. Has a little rust at the bottom of both doors and the tailgate. Rockers have been replaced. Interior is fair at best. He says all of the chrome is new. Let me hear your opinion!

Re: What is this one worth?
$3500.00
The hood hinges are sprung The box and cab do not line up, which points to a possible rust situation around the cab mounts. how are the cab supports? Check out the little boxes running from the rocker to the bottom of the floor? chances are for whatever rust you can see there is twice that hidden. Its a good looking truck, but just know what your getting into. But really. in order to give you a better guess, we would need way more pictures, info, etc...

Re: What is this one worth?
Need a lot more info/pics to really help you. The question is,, what do you, yourself, think it is worth?? That is the opinion that matters the most.

Re: What is this one worth?
looks like the hood is not adjusted right, they probably did not install it right after the installed the engine??I would crawl underneath and take a look, also check the inner pockets on the front fenders see if they are rusted or thinned out

Re: What is this one worth?
As specialtyretail said, what is it worth to you? We all come from different financial backgrounds and different parts of the country. Someone with more dollars than sense in the rust belt may pay 2k more for that than someone in the southwest who never deals with much rust. Also, what he says shouldn't matter to you. Ask for receipts for everything he claims to be new, otherwise, he may be taking you for a ride.

Re: What is this one worth?
I guess its a matter of how good you are with you hands and willingness to get in there and do the work if its needed. Also consider what you would do to it. Keep it the same? change stuff on it? modify? Honestly you could probably buy one in the same condition in the southwest for far less, and have it shipped to you and still have money left over to change or fix whatever.

Re: What is this one worth?
I see that truck as worth buying. The seller's price? A good double what it should be,so sounds about right. So,walk and hope you can still find one for closer to what it's worth or better shape for that price. If that truck had absolutely no signs of any rust was,is,or will be there it would be worth his price.

Re: What is this one worth?
7500 is a stiff ask for a Jimmy. Find out how much he paid for the new engine and trans rebuild, and what it is. If it's a regular crate 350, that's nothing special, you can buy those from JEGS for $1500 and with a few hundred in parts put a new one in a truck in a day. A rebuilt auto is a $7-800 ticket. If he had someone else do all the work there's another grand or so, so he's probably basing his ask on that.
*If* you really like the truck, offer $5k (if you can afford it) and see what he says. |

Re: What is this one worth?
Thanks guys. I'm gonna think on it a while. My biggest concern is the rust on the bottom of the doors and the tailgate. I didn't see much anywhere else. Is it a big deal to buy a couple of new complete doors for $300 each and hang them on the truck?

Re: What is this one worth?
If painting the doors to match the rest of the truck isn't an issue for you, then no.
