Are all aftermarket SWB bedsides created equal?

I am considering doing a SWB conversion. Just wondering if Tri-Plus, Counterpart, Goodmark SWB bedsides are all made by the same company. If not what ones would you recommend. Original sheet metal is extremely hard to come by up here. Thanks for the input.

Get the ones made by the Woodall Company. I'm pretty sure Southern Kentucky Classics and Classic Parts sell them but I would ask. There may be other vendors that sell them too.

i agree with lockdoc, i did alot of sheetmetal thumping before i bought mine and by far woodall was the best,i have heard alot of people would just by the bed floor from woodall and use other sides ,header and tailgate, i had some probelm with the taillight area on my fenders where the lights don't fit good in them

Re: Are all aftermarket SWB bedsides created equal?

My bed was totally gone and purchased a complete new bed from Southern Kentucky Classics. It came with the entire bed, bolts, hardware and all. It fit together great. Check it out on my build below. The only things that I did not like or had to modify was the new handle (didn't fit, would not open, had to trim) and the rear steel splash shield holes had to me openend up a bit to get the holes aligned. Other than that very impressed with how it came out.

Re: Are all aftermarket SWB bedsides created equal?

I have a Tri-Plus bedside on my truck, and it fits great. I think I read a while back that Tri-Plus makes all of them.

Re: Are all aftermarket SWB bedsides created equal?

I just bought a complete bed from SoKy and it was Woodall brand, every fit nice. Only 4 or 5 bolt holes needed a little work. The finished results are in my build thread.

Re: Are all aftermarket SWB bedsides created equal?

I got new bed sides and tailgate from Top Banana. I got my front end from brothers. Everything looks great and is good quality steel. I haven't been able to put it all together yet, but the metal looks good. I'm pretty sure they are tri plus.

Re: Are all aftermarket SWB bedsides created equal?

Thanks guys, sounds like tri-plus and woodall are the way to go. As I am not quite ready to purchase I figured I should do my homework first.

Re: Are all aftermarket SWB bedsides created equal?

There is only one manufacturer of the 68-72 short bed fleetside bedside. If you need a set let me know and I will put you on my sheetmetal list and order them in when I place my regular order. You can drive down to my shop and save yourself some shipping cost. WES
