brake light stays on
my brake light stays on on my gauge till i unhook the plug at the master cylinder ,it has plenty of fluid so what else could it be?air in the lines or what?

could be air in the lines or it could be that you need new shoes and pads, the light is just doing it's job, mine did the same thing a while back and i ignored it because i thought it was a wiring bug but when i did pull off the tire i had to get new drums so you really need to check your brakes.

Have you done any brake work lately, particularly the master cylinder? If your proportioning valve body has what looks like a black button on the front of it, try pushing in on it.

That light tells you that one side of your brakes are not working. The problem most likely is your MC. It is not putting pressure to the front or back brakes. When this happens there is a piston inside the prop. valve that slides to the side that has no pressure and grounds the light.(when working right same pressue on both sides of piston.)If your have done what Stocker said, hold valve in while someone applies brakes until light goes out.
