Tranny confusion follow up
hi all, I am about to purchase my 200 4r transmission and was wondering if I will need to re work the floor hump before I install it. Thanks to all. I love this forum, so helpful I couldn't do my build without it. Sorry boys install will be 66 C10

I installed a 700r4 on a stock low height hump with no interference at all. Kieth
You will need a new transmission crossmember...... |

+1....2004r is smaller diameter than a 700r4

I have a 2004r in my 64 gmc. fit perfect no need for a new cross member if you have an auto in it now. just change the mount. mine is a low hump also

I just pulled a 700R4 out of my 63 P/u low hump 2 whhel drive no problem on fit
just move cross member back about 2" for rear mount to a T350 The Picture is the 700R4 . . in on the Left 396/no trans the Middle is 350/T400 on the Right is 283/700R4 (out of truck) . Last edited by Softpatch; 03-29-2014 at 12:30 AM. |
