wtb 1967 12 bolt rear backing plates for drum brakes.
Hello, I'm posting this as a wtb 12 bolt rear drum backing plates. I don't know if there is any difference in the 6 lug or 5 lug backing plates. My truck is an orginal 1967 1/2 ton. Please pm with price. And pictures are welcome!
Thanks, KC...

Re: wtb 1967 12 bolt rear backing plates for drum brakes.
I have converted my 1967 12 bolt over to 5 on 5 axels using Moser axels. I'm looking to buying the kit from Early Classic Enterprises for converting the drum brakes over. I don't know if there is a difference in the backing plates or not. I think all of them are the same or maybe someone can chime in with the needed information. I think they all took the same parking brake cable just different lengths due to short wheel base or long wheel base but again I don't know. Mine is a short wheel base 1967.

Ok. I'm fairly certain I used my 6 lug backing plates. If you are interested I have a rear disc brake kit with backing plates for $350 plus the ride or pickup including pads and leadoff brake lines. I would post pictures but my phone doesn't like to for some reason. You can pm your number and I will text you some in the am

Re: wtb 1967 12 bolt rear backing plates for drum brakes.
I have all of my drum brake parts left over from doing a rear disc conversion. I think I have new wheel cylinders, also, but will have to check for sure. I should have all/most of the internal components and new, never used, 5-lug drums as well. I also have new stainless brake lines that mount to the rear axle housing if you are interested in those. Let me look through the garage this weekend and I can put together a list of everything I have. I can give you the backing plates for the cost of shipping, but any left-over "new" items I would sell at a fair price.

Re: wtb 1967 12 bolt rear backing plates for drum brakes.
Thanks for the generious offer Mike, Although I did purchase all the stuff to do a disk brake conversion I have been away from our shop for awhile due to a good friend/owner of the shop passing away. I finally went back today and re-collected my thoughts and went ahead and started removing the axels and chucking them up on the lathe to be turned. So Iv'e got it under control now.
Thanks for all who replied and God Bless, Kev C....

Re: wtb 1967 12 bolt rear backing plates for drum brakes.
Kevin,
I found everything but the backing plates. How ironic, those are the parts you needed the most. I apologize. I've posted pics of what I have been able to locate so far. If you are interested in those items let me know. The pics show a minor amount of surface rust in a few areas, but they have zero miles on the parts. |
