Front fender badges for 67-72 GMC trucks
I know the Chevy trucks had the C10 badges on the front fenders, but what did the GMC trucks have? Was it still the same or was it different? I know there were several different Chevy ones with Custom, Cheyenne, but I am looking for the comparable C10 on a GMC truck front fender. If anyone has a clear up close pic of a good one, please post it as well.
Thanks for the help! |

Re: Front fender badges for 67-72 GMC trucks
Mostly it depends on the trim level. But there are variations for 4x4, engines and Custom Camper too. Generally the lower name plate description changes. Canadian trucks used 9XX series badges. Plus there were the early Camper Cruisers fender badges way up front and Sierra & Grande out back on later wideside beds. Here is a catalog page from the Truck Shop as a very general idea. Special-K could probably get you up to speed on an exact year, trim and model usage.

Re: Front fender badges for 67-72 GMC trucks
In '67 GMCs had no fender badge unless it had the mid-level "Custom" script or top-of-the-line Super Custom verticle rectangle badge with "Custom" script at the top. In '68 GMC started using the same badge they used through '72. As shown, they have GMC in red letters up top and a narrow rectangle under the shows the series (1500,2500,3500,all the way up to 9500). In '68 they started with the insert telling engine type (V-Six,V-Eight,Diesel) and Custom script on the door,if not a base level. In '69 the inserts would say Custom and Super Custom and no mention of engine unless a base model. The Sierra and Sierra Grande came out in late-69 yet were only an option added to the trim level. It wasn't till '71 that the Sierra and Sierra Grande became their own trim level and that's when the Sierra and Sierra Grande inserts were added.

WOW, so much for simple, lol. I will probably just stay with GMC then. Thank you sooooo much for the insight.
