Source for 3 speed manual trans parts?

I was planning to go through my transmission on my 1951 3100 this month, does anyone recommend a good source for parts?

if its for the 51 then try www.obschevy.com. www.vapinc.com, bearing kits can be had on ebay.

Re: Source for 3 speed manual trans parts?

The ball bearings can be had at you local bearing house. Most cities of any size have industrial bearing houses where you can match your old bearings and don't let out full service parts houses like Napa.
You can also run any bearing parts number in a search and find matching bearings. I've picked up oem quality bearings off Ebay at a fraction of the list price. There are a number of vendors on Ebay who buy out old stock from stores or buy out parts houses
inventory and resell it. I rebuilt the front suspension on my 71 with Moog parts purchased from those vendors at a fraction of the over the counter price.

What I am actually saying is don't pay inflated prices to some "specialty" place for "rare" bearings that you can walk into a local store and buy or buy quality pieces on line for reasonable prices.

77 C 30 dualie, 454, 4 speed with a 10 foot flatbed and hoist. It does the heavy work and hauls the projects around.

Re: Source for 3 speed manual trans parts?

Thanks! I am still waiting on my service manual to come in the mail, what is the proper name of the transmission when searching for parts? I was told its a Muncie 318 Light duty, but I don't know for sure. Its a 51 3100 truck.
