Has any one used one of these? Wondering about the fit and finish. http://www.ebay.com/itm/270984456512...84.m1497.l2649

Re: Dash pad

They claim to be an OEM licensed by GM, I hope its not the flimsy droopy one, cause I went ahead and ordered it.

Re: Dash pad

I ordered my dash pad from them (73-80 style though) & I'm pretty pleased with it. Not perfect but it fits better than a lot of aftermarket pads I've seen.

Re: Dash pad

I got the pad in three days. So far pretty happy with it. I have seen a lot of recommendations for Dashesdirect.com. Their urethane pads are $380, so I was happy to find this in the box!...It looks pretty thick and feels more substantial than another I have recently seen.

I will post some pictures when I unwrap it this weekend. I might be able to get it installed.

Re: Dash pad

So far I am not too impressed with my dash pad. I was able to fix the dash insert with some threaded rod, nuts, and two part epoxy. I drilled holes and made some rods to secure the back vents. The front of the insert looks OK, so I fixed it and reused. The dash pad install should have taken about 30 minutes, but I had to trim some of the rubber off so It would fit. The passenger side went in fairly easy and the front bolt holes lined up.
The dash bezel is a WHOLE different story!, The bezel won't fit inside the dash near the drivers door. It has no stiffness there. I messed with it for a while and then drove over to a buddies house and we could not figure it out. I am going to have to shave off some of the bezel near the door, at the corner. I will take some photos and post them when I get around to completing the job.

Re: Dash pad

I have been through this many times and unless you can find a NOS OEM dash you are better off with less time, headache and frustration just going with a good dash rug. I have never found a repop that fits or looks good enough to justify the cost.

So I go the dash pad in, I think it looks OK. I like it better than a cap.

Man, I am on the fence at this point. If it does not warp this summer, I would have to say yes.

I just looked at the website. If a company isn't willing, or able, to post decent photos of their products, I personally wouldn't buy anything from them.

Re: Dash pad

I bought the one off of EBay, and mine was made by DashesDirect who sell theirs for $380. I don't understand how they can say these are OEM. The left side of the dash to the right of the bezel is very flimsy. I used a self tapping screw and attached it to the metal to hold it down.

Here's another one claiming to be Dashes Direct with a better pic. Sodell does that look like the same manufacturer as yours?

Re: Dash pad

Ahh, I missed where you said urethane. In that case SEM wont work. Wondering if the vinyl versions are better quality since the one in the last link looks nice and has been recommended by a few folks. Thanks for the pics and feedback.

Re: Dash pad

The vinyl dashes are pretty nice.. I bought one from Classic Industries when they had a 20% off..they sent me the eurathane one "in error". When I saw the piece of wood holding it together I knew it wasn't going in my truck..
