Installed the Procar 90 Lowback

After the Hot Rod Power Tour last year, I decided the old bench seat needed to be replaced. I shopped around and looked around but wanted to keep the "look" right. I went for the procar-90 low backs and also purchased the frame that went with it. We had to cut the frame down 2" to get the right height, I am extremely happy with the results. We added the center console and moved it up a few inches so we could use it as an arm rest.

They look good. Is the console also from Procar?

Re: Installed the Procar 90 Lowback

The center console was purchased thru USA1 Industries; they had the best price that I could find. It is a knock off modelled off the 73-87 Chevy truck center consoles. The original consoles had the square holes; I preferred having a cup holder.

looks great! Strange the seat mounts specifically for the truck were too tall.

Re: Installed the Procar 90 Lowback

Thanks for the comments, I purchased the seats thru Amazon, I have free shipping with Amazon Prime. I bought the mount thru Jegs.

I did a two hour test drive on Sat and they felt great.

69sinker I do not recall where I purchased the seatbelts, there are nothing fancy, but they will work if needed.

Re: Installed the Procar 90 Lowback

That looks great! Exactly the look I'm after. Would it be an option to put safety belts in there, such as 5 points?

Re: Installed the Procar 90 Lowback

bbcmudtruck, for a five point harness, I think you would need to remove the gas tank to be able to mount them correctly.

Outstanding! My gas tank is already relocated. Thank you for the pictures, as I've looked at those seats a few times now over the last year. Which ones did you end up getting exactly? I see they have a few different fabric options and would like your opinion on the quality of the fabric. Thanks!

The model number was 80-1400-51, I believe. Amazon was 1 more dollar than jegs, but no tax and free shipping.

Re: Installed the Procar 90 Lowback

Bump.

are you still happy almost 2 years later?

I am thinking about using these to fab up a recreation of the "buddy bucket" style, to use in my 63.

Thanks for a great thread!

Re: Installed the Procar 90 Lowback

I also installed the Procar buckets in my 69 C10 except mine have the head rest. They work great. I also had to lower the seat frame 2". My head was about an 1" away from the roof. You can get them through Jegs or Summit and the shipping is free for both. LMC has the console.

Re: Installed the Procar 90 Lowback

Who makes this steering wheel? Is it aftermarket or an OEM version Camaro wheel?

Thanks

Re: Installed the Procar 90 Lowback

I am still happy after two years and two power tours. I love the traditional look and the comfort.

The steering wheel is just a grant I believe. If I was to do it again, I would purchase one that was made like the comfort grip Camaro wheels from the 60s. I like the way those don't dish out as much.

Good looking seats, I have them in my 83 and they sit too high for me, have the seats mounted to the frame at the lowest setting and still too high, how did you get another 2" of drop on them

We actually cut two inches from the frame and welded it back together.
