Seems like I read a post once that talked about the performance in where the H/X pipe were located as in distance from headers maybe. Could someone give more info on this?

I heard to paint the exhaust from the collectors back. Right where the paint stops burning off is where the H or X pipe should start.

jimfulco had posted this link: http://www.boyleworks.com/ta400/psp/exhaust.html over in Engine & Drivetrain. It has a section on H vs. X pipes. Pretty informative.
