Re: 1968 Motorhome Craigslist

For parts for a project, fine... But to fix that thing up, you could dump $50K into it before it was usable as a motor home again. And who was the genius back in the day that ordered a 17 ton motor home with a V6?!?! Really dude? Not even a 327? I hope that worked out well...

Re: 1968 Motorhome Craigslist

I talked to the fellow and he told me it runs but it has carb issues he thinks. Also the rockers are rusted out. I would have picked this up if I was closer. But here are some more pics he sent me.

I had one of those V6's. They could pull the legs out from under Godzilla.

Good thing this thing is not close. I'd be in sooo much trouble when that showed up in the driveway. Perfect Talladega mobile!

Re: 1968 Motorhome Craigslist

It's an 'Open Road'. They were big on the fold down rear patio. Seems they built a lot of chassis mounts on GMC 3500 chassis with V-6's in '67-'68.

Dega, Dega!!! That's cool, but what, no AC? I can't remember seeing a motorhome with a patio door LOL. Is the folding patio missing? I'd buy it in a flash if it was close, good thing it isn't, I'm a sucker for projects. I bet that would tow a vehicle behind, or my Harley, that's the ticket.

Re: 1968 Motorhome Craigslist

I was thinking it would be cool to make it a small toy hauler by make the back into a ramp or something along that lines. It would be neat to put couple of bikes or something small in the back. You would probably have to move some stuff around in the inside to make it work but the back is cut out already.

Or you could just tow something I guess.

Re: 1968 Motorhome Craigslist

It will tow a longbed C25 and a couple of Harleys, lol.

Were the motorhome chassis doubled or beefed-up in any way to accommodate the extra long span?
